ich habe ein neues System mit Etch aufgesetzt. Da ich mit Festplatten schon öfters Probleme hatte, durfte
natürlich das smartmantools Package nicht fehlen. Da mit der stable Version einige komische Meldungen a la:

erscheinen nun nicht mehr. Jede Nacht um 3h wird ein kurzer Selbsttest und am Wochenende einen Extended Test der SATA - Platte durchgeführt und bei Fehlern bekomme ich eine Email.
Ergebnis ist, das bis jetzt kein einziger Test erfolgreich war. Er bricht nach 10% ab und meldet im Log

Ist die Platte schrott?

Wenn ich den devicescan in der smartd.conf auskommentiert lasse (also default),
wird die Platte automatisch als SCSI device ge-'monitored'.
Wenn ich aber explizit sage er soll nur /dev/sda (zusätzlich -d sat) überwachen meldet smartd das er ein
ATA device monitored. (Das Ergebnis der Selftest ist das gleiche!)
Was ist richtig ATA/SCSI?
U.a. habe ich schon alle Firmware-bug Varianten ausprobiert,
also
-F samsung,
-F samsung2
&
-F samsung3,
aber ohne grosse Unterschiede. (Nur bei einer der Optionen bekomme ich überhaupt keine Selftest-Einträge angezeigt)
