Hallo liebe Forengemeinde,

ich habe Anfang Januar Windows 7 von der Festplatte verbannt und Debian Jessie mit Cinnamon installiert.
Ich war bisher immer sehr zufrieden, es gab zwar immer mal kleinere Probleme, die ich aber mit Google gut lösen konnte. Nur zu meinem aktuellen Problem gibt es anscheinend keine zufriedenstellende Lösung.

Am Freitag Abend habe ich die letzten Updates eingespielt.
Seit Samstag startet Cinnamon nicht mehr, bzw. nur noch im Rückfallmodus.
Was ich bisher alles versucht habe:
  1. Cinnamon entfernt (apt-get purge) und wieder installiert - keine Veränderung
  2. Treiber neu installiert(nouveau statt Nvidia) - keine Veränderung
  3. die eingespielten Updates habe ich wieder manuell deinstalliert(purge und anschließend autoremove) - keine Veränderung
  4. ich habe mit "X -configure" eine xorg.config erstellt und in das richtige Verzeichnis kopiert.
Ansonsten habe ich auch noch einiges anderes Herumprobiert, an das ich mich jetzt gar nicht mehr so genau erinnern kann, da ich mittlerweile ca. 10 Stunden mit Tablet(Internet) und Konsole(Linux) verbracht habe.


Ich bin mit meinem Latein am Ende und hoffe, ihr könnt mir helfen.

Du könntest mal eben kurz Debiantask-mate-desktop oder Debiantask-xfce-desktop oder einen Window-Manager wie Debianopenbox installieren um zu schauen ob das überhaupt ein Grafikproblem oder ein Cinnamon-Problem ist. Installiere sicherheitshalber auch Debiantask-cinnamon-desktop erneut. Vielleicht ist was verlorengegangen.
Auch solltest du alle Tests rückgängig machen, da du vielleicht neue Probleme eingebaut hast.

Danke für die Tipps,

Aktuell schreibe ich von der Desktopumgebung Mate aus, das hatte ich oben vergessen zu erwähnen.

Die Tests habe ich immer gleich wieder rückgängig gemacht.

Ich habe mal task-cinnamon-desktop zu installieren, mit dem Ergebnis, das es nicht installiert war, obwohl Cinnamon als eigenständiges Paket installiert war. Leider brachte das auch nicht den erwünschten Effekt, der Cinnamon-Desktop startet immer noch nur im Rückfallmodus, in dem ich nichts tun kann.

Du könntest vielleicht mal einen neuen Benutzer mit einem leeren /hom/user-Verzeichnis anlegen und dich anmelden. Funktioniert das? Dann liegt es eher an irgendwelchen Benutzerkonfigurationen. Sollte auch das fehlschlagen tippe ich auf irgendwelche Systemkonfigurationen bzw. Hardwareprobleme.

Cinnamon benötigt laut Internet gegenüber Mate eine 3D - Beschleunigung. Ich denke in die Richtung musst du suchen.

Suche z.B. GF108GLM in http://www.free3d.org .

Am 08.03.2017 gab es mit https://www.debian.org/security/2017/dsa-3804 evtl. neue Kernel-Pakete. Bin mir aber nicht sicher.
Leider kenne ich mich mit Nvidia auch nicht aus. Vielleicht muss man den Treiber mal ganz neu installieren inkl. irgendwelcher Kernel-Anpassungen.

Statt proprietäre Treiber würde ich immer freie Treiber wie Debianxserver-xorg-video-nouveau verwenden.
Dafür würde ich sogar auf Cinnamon verzichten. Mate ist toll und die Menüs kannst du wie bei Cinnamon bzw. Windows (Start unten links) und keine zwei Leisten anpassen.
Das Standard-Icon-Theme ist ziemlich lahm beim ersten Aufruf des Menübaums. Das habe ich auch geändert.

Ihr habt aber schon bemerkt, daß das System sowohl Intel, als auch Nvidia hat?
Ergo muß das Problem nicht bei Nvidia, sondern kann durchaus auch beim Intel liegen.
Man müßte halt erstmal wissen, welche Grafik benutzt wird. Relevante Logfiles wären auch nett, um das Problem einzukreisen.

Ja, das ist ein Laptop mit 2 Grafikkarten, leider handelt es sich dabei um eine NVIDIA Optimus Lösung, bei der die Intel Graka für das tägliche geschäft verwendet wird und die NVIDIA für alle grafisch aufwändigeren Anwendungen.
ABER NVIDIA Optimus ist rein auf Windows ausgelegt und es gibt keine wirklich zufriedenstellende Opensource Lösung (evtl. Bumblebee, das ist aber nicht so toll).
Von daher nutze ich das System, wie es nach der Installation war, da jeder Versuch, etwas zu verbessern, nur mehr Probleme mit sich gebracht hat.

Wenn du mir sagen würdest, welche Logfiles hilfreich wären, dann stelle ich die gerne noch rein.

Ich habe bisher auch immer nouveau genutzt, nur im Zuge des aktuellen Problems habe ich den nvidia Treiber zwischenzeitlich installiert gehabt, um zu sehen, ob das Problem damit auch auftritt, da das der Fall war ist der nvidia-Treiber gleich wieder vom System geflogen.

Naja, wie vermutet.

Dein System ist Optimus, Nvidia kann so einfach nicht verwendet werden und Intel ist das primäre Device.

Könnte funktionieren wenn Du danach rebootest.

Hallo,

ja hat funktioniert, jetzt geht Cinnamon wieder.

Nur kurz zum Verständnis, die Nvidia-Treiber waren falsch, da die Intel Graka das Primäre Device war.
Und im Anschluss wurde einfach der Xserver neu installiert.
