Bits from Debian Med
--------------------
Andreas Tille sent some bits from the Debian Med team [1], reporting
some recent initiatives of the team, such as the Mentoring of the
Month [2] efforts. Andreas also announced that in February there will be
a real life meeting of Debian Med developers and users [3], in Kiel
(Germany); all interested people are invited to join.

A look into the Linux kernel of Debian "Wheezy"
-----------------------------------------------
Ben Hutchings, member of the Debian Kernel team and maintainer of the
3.2.y stable series at kernel.org, wrote a series of three blogposts
(part 1 [4], part 2 [5], part 3 [6]) about the additional features
(missing from mainline 3.2) that will be included in the Linux kernel to
be shipped with the next Debian stable.

Release-Critical bugs remain to be solved for the release to happen.

Re: Debian Project News - January 21st, 2013
Maiwoche. Kritisch ist wohl eher "affecting wheezy and unstable" (176) minus "bugs tagged patch" (46) minus "bugs marked as done" (13), das macht "bugs neither tagged patch nor marked done" (120, es gibt wohl doppelte tags).
- Affecting wheezy: 244 That's the number we need to get down to zero before the release. They can be split in two big categories:
- Affecting wheezy and unstable: 176 Those need someone to find a fix, or to finish the work to upload a fix to unstable:
- 46 bugs are tagged 'patch'. Please help by reviewing the patches, and (if you are a DD) by uploading them.
- 13 bugs are marked as done, but still affect unstable. This can happen due to missing builds on some architectures, for example. Help investigate!
- 120 bugs are neither tagged patch, nor marked done. Help make a first step towards resolution!
- Affecting wheezy only: 68 Those are already fixed in unstable, but the fix still needs to migrate to wheezy. You can help by submitting unblock requests for fixed packages, by investigating why packages do not migrate, or by reviewing submitted unblock requests.
