Hallo allerseits!
Folgende Ausgangssituation: Ein älterer PC (noch mit BIOS) wurde mit einer neuen SSD versorgt. Debian Stretch wurde dabei von der alten Festplatte auf die SSD mittels CloneZilla kopiert. Grub sollte damit vollständig auf der SSD liegen. Im PC befindet sich außerdem noch eine Festplatte, auf der sich ein Windows XP aus alten Tagen befindet
.
Nun kommt es im Grub-Auswahlmenü und später zu Fehlermeldungen und Kernel-Panics. Häufig kann die initiale Ramdisk nicht geladen werden, wobei dieses Problem interessanterweise mit den neuesten Kernel (4.9.0-9) häufiger auftritt, als mit einem älteren Kernel (4.9.0-8). Kann Debian hochfahren, kommen beim Start immer wieder Festplattenfehler (siehe unten), die vor dem Umzug meines Erachtens auch nicht aufgetreten sind.
Ich komme hier nicht weiter - könnt ihr mir helfen?

Diese Meldungen aus dem Log haben nix mit Grub oder sonstwas zu tun.
Die sind typisch für kaputtes/schlecht gestecktes SATA Kabel oder defekter Platte.
Alternativ kann sowas auch vorkommen, wenn man eine schnelle SATA3 Platte an einen langsamen SATA Port anstöpselt.

Das Kabel ist das gleiche, wie bei der vorherigen Festplatte. Allerdings unterstützt das Mainboard tatsächlich nur SATA 3GB/s. Auf der anderen Seite hat die alte Festplatte ebenfalls schon den neuen SATA-Standard unterstützt... Bis auf die eine Warnung ("Warning: ATA error count 0 inconsistent with error log pointer 2") sind die SMART-Werte der neuen SSD auch in Ordnung. Siehst du noch eine andere Lösung, außer Einbau in einen anderen PC?

So, ich wollte nochmal eine Rückmeldung geben, nachdem ich das Gehäuse dann doch aufgemacht habe. Alle SATA-Kabel ab und wieder angesteckt - fühlten sich zwar alle fest an, aber seit der Maßnahme läuft Grub problemlos durch. Lt. Kernellog kommt von der SSD nur noch ein (unwichtiger?) Fehler...
