Kernel: 4.9.0-8-amd64
XFCE-Version: 4.12
Es ist nur eine Vermutung meinerseits.
Mein System hängt sich immer wieder auf. Ich hatte schon den Firefox in Verdacht und verwende deshalb seit einigen Tagen Chrome. Aber auch da steigt mein System aus. Beim Firefox ist es allerdings etwas heftiger.
Das Problem ist, daß der PC ganz kurz einfriert. Ist der Firefox aktiv, dann kommt das Anmeldefenster. Beim Chrome friert es nur kurz ein und nach kurzer Zeit kann ich wieder weiter machen.
Nach der Anmeldung kommen folgende Fehlermeldungen:

Du könntest auch mal testweise ein anderes Desktop-Environment oder auch einen Window-Manager verwenden, um Xfce als Ursache auszuschließen oder zu bestätigen.

Ich glaube die Fehlerbeschreibungen helfen gar nicht und sind nur ein Folgefehler. Irgendwas reißt Xfce herunter und da die Panel in einen fehlerhaften Status sind wird eine Meldung ausgegeben, die dann eigentlich recht plausibel aber sinnlos ist. Man könnte evtl. mal versuchen temporär den Window-Manager xfwm4 z. B. durch openbox zu tauschen. Vielleicht liegt es ja an xfwm4. Am Panel liegt es aber bestimmt nicht.

Soweit ich weiß, kann der "Kiosk Modus" nur manuell geschaffen werden.
Und zwar durch Anlegen der Datei /xdg/xfce4/kiosk/kioskrc. Ich weiß keine Möglichkeit, dies durch ein "Häkchen" zu provozieren.

Die 3D Effekte sind nach meiner Erinnerung standardmäßig an bei Xfce. Ich hatte da auch meine Probleme,als ich einige Zeit lang Xfce im Einsatz hatte und nicht wusste, dass die an waren.

Nachdem ich nun Anzeigen-Compositing deaktiviert habe ist es etwas besser geworden.

Ich würde an deiner Stelle mal nach Problemen im Zusammenhang mit deinem Intel Grafik-Chip suchen. Evtl. bringt da eine aktuellere Firmware etwas?
